Colonic Hydrotherapy Treatment Advice
Pre-Treatment Advice
Do I have to do anything before having a colonic hydrotherapy treatment?
Not really, however here are a few tips that might help you:
- Increase water (still & clear) intake to two litres daily. If you want a more accurate assessment of your daily water consumption divide your body weight in pounds by 40, this number is the number of pints of still, clear water you need in a day.
- In the 24 hours preceding your treatment you should try to eat and drink easily digested foods and liquids such as fruit or vegetable juices, fruit smoothies or soups, preferably using organic and seasonal produce. Reduce processed foods, caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, high fat, high salt and highly refined sugar foods.
- Try not to eat for two hours before the treatment.
- Try and get to the appointment ten minutes early, this means you can sit, relax and enjoy a cup of tea before we begin your treatment. Download and fill in the Osalo medical form and bring it along with you.

Post-Treatment Advice
It's recommended that you eat plain, simple foods for a day or so following the treatment. It is probably not a good idea to eat highly spiced foods the evening of your treatment.
Please drink lots of fresh, clear, still water. Drink at regular intervals and have drinks that are not too hot or too cold. Choose from vegetable soups, potassium broths or fresh fruit smoothies.
To eat choose from; Organic chicken, turkey, salmon, egg or sweet potato oven baked or grilled with steamed organic vegetables or salad. Fresh homemade vegetable soups are soothing and nutritious. Live, organic yoghurt served with manuka honey, ground nuts and seeds, sprinkled with ground cinnamon is a really nutritious and delicious way to end the day (and it is not a bad way to start the day either!)
Try to relax as much as you can. Listen to what your body tells you and try to comply where possible. Sometimes you may feel full of energy and other times you may initially feel quite tired after the treatment.
If, after a treatment you have any queries at all please contact Sara at Osalo, however trivial it seems to you at the time. I want to reassure you that you are not out of sight and out of mind.
